What disturbs me about this, is that I can imagine some groups in the Deep South celebrating their memories of a lynching in the same manner. "Cold brutality." "Warming influence of the intervening years." "Group membership." "Nostalgia." "They’re not mean. They’re just religious." Maybe I'm just being a hard-ass this morning.
