Alas. In the early days of blogging, there was an unwritten rule - you never altered a story after hitting 'Publish.' Except for typos. You followed up with a clarification if necessary, interlinking as necessary. I wonder if open source publishers could come up with a DKIM-like system for us to verify that articles are original ... or that give us a clear history of changes for the article (in the footer, presumably).
