We are never going to be like that. We are never going to be like the Republicans. We are never going to say the same things ... We care about the details and we care about how we get there. We care about all of it and it's messy.

Let's talk about humanity. I seem to recall a certain welfare reform bill in '96. You try too hard to be like Republicans, and that's a large part of the problem. They play you time and time again. You've compromised and compromised and now the whole of America can no longer remember what the 'middle' actually was before the New Democrats showed up. Normality is so far right we're bleeding out our left ears.
