NY Times: Lessons From the Media’s Failures in Its Year With Trump.

For too much of 2016, we in the news media — with many stellar exceptions — sometimes were mindless mutts that barked at everything.

I like Kristof, I really do. But the first step in recovery and forgiveness is "I -" not "We - ".  After this election cockup, the Times should really dump all their current editorialists and start anew. I bet they'd see their subscription numbers increase significantly if they would deign to be so bold.
