"Blogging is dead."

I see this expressed every so often. Yet when I dig into said blogger's archives, they have made no significant attempts to change their routine to adapt to new circumstances. Certainly I love doing what I do here, but my market moved on after Twitter peaked. I could have changed (should have!) - and indeed, I am considering doing so in a rather curious manner - but one should not declare a medium as 'dead' unless you have bashed your own preferences into the wall and refocused on your audiences desires. Often this requires exiting our comfort zones ... and speaking for myself, I've gotten awfully comfy with my style of blogging. It is past time to risk more.

As I've expressed elsewhere, when swimming in the sea of your own blogging enjoyment, you simply must pop that head up and look around, see where the winds and currents are heading. If you do not, your audience will pass you by without a moment's regret.
